Pick your team carefully
Your agency culture depends on you!

The right mix of agents in your agency will determine the ultimate success of your team. This is a factor totally in our control. We are each the general managers of our own teams and we decide who can make the team and who gets cut.
In order to accomplish all of our collective goals we need to be firing on all cylinders, which requires the help of everyone. If our teammates genuinely like and trust each other and share common goals and interests, they will also help each other to be the best they can be. They will encourage each other to join Advocis, get their CFP and qualify and attend MDRT and beyond.
Equally important to your success in promoting your agency culture is to have fun together as a team. Travel together, go out to dinner/lunch, take in a ballgame, hold a family BBQ or picnic and celebrate special events and milestones. Also get the spouses and children of your agents involved in the culture. Set up a private Facebook site where you can share all of the pictures, stories and special events which make your team unique. This will also help all new recruits to blend quickly into your team.
While in the selection process, talk about your culture. This is what will set you apart. Don’t keep it a secret until they start in your agency. Let them know what they can expect. Introduce them to some of your agents.
Create a culture of winning! Going to your company’s sales conference or to the MDRT conference becomes contagious. People naturally want to be part of a winning team.
